Tired of the same old? If you own an older mobile home, perhaps from the 1980s, you must consider upgrading to a more updated version. This way, you will reap the reward of the equity on the new mobile home!
Time for an upgrade!
Generally, people consider upgrading when they have maintenance or major repairs that they will need to do on a pre-HUD dwelling as they are designed differently. Complications such as plumbing, ventilation, electrical, and roof on these old mobile homes are signs that can help you decide whether you should spend money to repair these things or opt for upgrading your outdated mobile home.
The fact that you can get more money out of selling a newer home than an older one is a big reason for upgrading your mobile home. Follow the steps below on how to upgrade your mobile home if you have made your decision!
Step 1: Setting up an Analysis Appointment
The first thing you should do is schedule an analysis appointment to obtain estimates and find out exactly what the issues are with your current home and why you want to upgrade. The report gives you a thorough rundown of how much time it will take for the entire process to complete and the necessary details for your new home. This breakdown tells you whether you need to put down a down-payment plan and how much the monthly expenditure are.
Step 2: Designing your Mobile Home
Once you have decided on upgrading your mobile home, it's time to get started on the design. For the design, a deposit is often required with certain designers. Once you've placed the deposit, it is time to choose the floorplan of your home. With the analysis done previously, you can figure out whether more square footage can be added to your living space.
This is where you can customize the home to fit your needs and likings. Do you want a nice big kitchen with an island? Do you want a beautiful bathroom with a his and her sink? Do you want slabs made of quartz? What kind of finishing and paints do you want in your home? What type of ceilings do you want? All these aspects are discussed throughout the design phase.
Step 3: Initiating the Home Building Process
Once you are satisfied with the design, it is time to initiate the home building process. Your design will be submitted to the builders and the building process will occur in the factory. Within 2 to 3 months, you will have to move out of the old house, and during that time, the construction team will remove the old home to reset the foundation and base rock. You will be out of the house for approximately 45 days, and by the end of this period, your new home would have already been installed in the existing lot. At this point, only a few more finishing touches are required and then you can enjoy living in a brand new home.
